Cheryl Cole jetted into Camp Bastion,
in Helmand Province, Afghanistan to
entertain the British troops!
The Mirror newspaper reports that
sources close to the Geordie singer
say:
''When Cheryl was invited to go out to see
them in Afghanistan,she immediately
said ‘YES’.
“She thinks it’s such a great cause
and they deserve all the recognition
they get.”
The UK forces in Helmand Province have
lost many soldiers throughout the
years-- it's a sad situation.
Cheryl's trip to visit the troops is sure to
raise their spirits high despite being faced
with the grim reality of war.
It's reported that Cheryl will meet and greet
all the troops! Cheryl is an animal lover
- the star has two pet chihuahuas Coco & Buster-
so Cheryl will really enjoy working with the military
guard dogs, who assist the soldiers on the
front line.
Cheryl might even serenade the troops!
Now that would put a smile on their faces!
The Geordie beauty follows in the
footsteps of stars such as Marilyn Monroe and
Bob Hope, both were known for entertaining
their troops abroad!
Part of Cheryl's visit to the war-torn
region will be aired at The Pride of Britain
awards next month on ITV. Cheryl hopes
to highlight the good that the soldiers are
doing to keep the peace within the
Helmand region of Afghanistan.
