Popstar Joe McElderry, 20, spoke
to TV3's Xpose about his new
album Classic and talks about
Simon Cowell's controversial
decision to axe Cheryl Cole
from XFactor U.S.A.

Joe was dropped from Cowell's
record label Syco music, after
his debut album didn't get so
much commercial success.

Joe was devastated!
The star really felt for his former
XFactor Mentor,Cheryl Cole-
who was axed from
XFactor U.S.A by Cowell.

Joe believes that Simon's making
''a few wrong calls at the minute''
and that axing Cheryl from the
talent show was ''a big mistake''
and that most Americans loved
Cheryl's 'Geordie accent',
as Joe says:
'Who wouldn't love
the Geordie accent!?!'

Joe says that he still keeps in
touch with Cheryl via text and
that he's going to
'send her an album, as well'

Speaking of his axe from the
record label, Joe told Xpose:
'I thought next chapter-
lets use this to my advantage
and that's what I did'

Joe jumped at the opportunity to
appear on ITV's Popstar to Opera-star,
as he says 'I'm a Yes Man''.
For the 20 year old star it was by far
his best move yet- after all he went on
to win ITV's Popstar to Operastar and
now the young Geordie lad
has reinvented himself
as an Opera singer!

Joe's album, 'Classic' went to No.2.
in the UK album charts and received
Gold status.

As for love Joe told TV3's Xpose:
'I never really have time for myself,
nevermind time for dates at the minute
but hopefully one day'

Congrats to Joe on his
classical music success!
He's a true star &
a gentleman!
