R.E.M

R.E.M have officially called it quits after
31 years of making music together.

USMagazine report:
The alternative rock band --
featuring singer Michael Stipe, 51, guitarist
Peter Buck, 54, and bassist Mike Mills, 52 --
announced they have broken up after
31 years together Monday.

Apparently R.E.M had been recording
new material in an Anthens recording
studio over the summer-- however it's
not yet certain whether these tracks
will be released to the general public.

R.E.M have toured the world time
and time again--won countless
music awards and have championed
causes such as animal rights and
have always had a very progressive
and liberal outlook.

R.E.M are proud of the music they've
accomplished together. The band
feel that it's the right time to end
R.E.M. Perhaps they felt that
the spark had gone from their
musical ideas---or some creative
differences!?! We'll never know!

The band may no longer be
together but R.E.M have
left an outstanding music
legacy, with songs like
'Everybody Hurts' &
'Imitation of Life'.
