Cameron Mitchell has reportedly quite The Glee Project.
The Texan was a strong contendor to win the competition,
so it comes as a complete shocker that he's left!
Now only 5 contestants remain, including
Irish hopeful, Damian McGinty, 18, from
Derry city in Northern Ireland, is still standing!
Despite ending up in the bottom 3 this week.

Judge & Glee Producer, Robert Ulrich, has
always wanted to do a Riverdance episode of Glee!
Damian would be ideal in that role, given that he
was once a singer with Celtic Thunder, an Irish
folk group that gained quite the following in
Ireland.

Damian was devastated that Cameron left the show.
He took to his official blog on the show's Oxygen
website:

Damian says:
''Cameron quitting was not nice. At all. I think it
was one of the worst nights in my life.
In my head, knowing that Ryan was willing to
send me home, made me feel
sick and it made me doubt myself.
The fact that I am still in this show
is due to the fact that Cameron quit''.

Damian reportedly thought that
he was going to go that night!
Being in the bottom 3, Damian
had to sing for his survival in
the competition. He say a
well known Irish song,
Oh Danny Boy, a song
which Damian had performed
with his group Celtic Thunder.
However on this occassion
Glee Producer and co-creator,
Ryan Murphy reportedly
felt that Damian didn't connect
with the song. Nevermind, Damian
got through to the next round.

Well done Damian!!
Keep up the good work!
Glee needs an
Irish character!
